World famous
dancer and choreographer Diana Calenti achieved
legendary success in Egypt performing at Cairo’s famed Opera House and
other prestigious Theaters. She taught Egyptian Dance at the American
University in Cairo for many years and danced and choreographed with
Egypt’s National REDA Folkloric troupe for a decade. She was appointed by
the Egyptian Ministry of Culture to Head a new Modern Egyptian Dance Co which
performed her outstanding production of ‘BAHIYA” at the opening of
the newly renovated Balloon Theater, home of Egyptian Folklore and later at
Cairo’s famed “Gomhouriya Theater”.
Diana
brings her brilliant new creations of Egyptian
dance to George Washington University.
The program will have Traditional Folkloric Egyptian Dance,
Dances from the Romantic Sixties, Egyptian Dance from the times of the
ancient Pharaohs and ultra modern Egyptian dance of the 21st
Century. It will be a dazzling multimedia presentation
combining live dances with images of performances from Egypt.
ART America
TV channel will feature Diana Calenti on Thursday
February 4th at
8 pm with repeats on Monday at 1:30 pm and again on Thursday February 25th.
